BACK TO 2080 is an ongoing body of work by Jesse B. Foerster exploring artificiality, identity and the shifting boundary between the real and the constructed.

Situated somewhere between sculptural photography, hybrid photography, sculptural surrealism and digital abstraction, the works challenge our perception of material, form and reality.

The work is primarily organized around three series: ICONS, FACES and ECHOES.

ICONS highly abstracted, symbolic figures reduced to sculptural form, surface and presence.

FACES simplified portrait studies with restrained detail, reduced color and increasingly human features.

ECHOES more humanized figures placed within real-world environments.
